Chinook’s Edge names Chris Adamson new Associate Superintendent

Chinook’s Edge School Division has named Chris Adamson as the new Associate Superintendent of Learning Services. Adamson will assume the role in August, 2025.
“Chris is highly regarded in his current and previous roles, as a skilled educator and leader who has developed high levels of trust with students, parents, and staff as well as school and division administrators,” says Kurt Sacher, Superintendent, Chinook’s Edge School Division. “We appreciate Chris’ deep commitment to instructional leadership, professional learning, and system wide improvement.”
“Chris brings skill, passion, and experience to the areas of curriculum implementation, quality instruction and assessment, collaborative leadership, and using data to inform the way he leads. These qualities will serve him well as he supports teachers, administrators, and student learning across our school division.”
Adamson is currently serving as the Principal of Innisfail High School, where he has also served as Vice-Principal. Prior to his work in Chinook’s Edge, Adamson served as Principal and Vice-Principal in a K-9 and a K-12 school in the Fort Vermilion School Division.
Also, he has presented at the Central Alberta Regional Consortium (CARC), the College of Alberta School Superintendents (CASS), ULead Conference, Jigsaw Learning events, and for other school divisions across Alberta. Adamson served on the Chinook’s Edge complex needs committee and has led some of the work in the areas of collaborative problem solving and collaborative response, two of the division’s approaches to supporting student needs.
“I applied for this position because I am passionate about learning and leadership,” says Chris Adamson. “ I’m excited for the opportunity to collaborate with the division leadership and learning services team, as well as schools from kindergarten to Grade 12. I look forward to celebrating their successes and supporting them as we move learning forward.”
Chris has a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership, Assessment, and Educational Research from the University of Calgary. He also holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Ottawa. He completed the Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard (SLQS) certificate from the University of Calgary.
