Young entrepreneurs shine at Penhold Elementary School’s Maker’s Market

Creativity and entrepreneurship is alive and well at Penhold Elementary School. The school’s second annual Makers Market was a big success.
Students who wish to participate created their own product to sell, decided what price they’d put on their goods, and how they would display them.
On two parent teacher interview evenings last week, the students were set up at tables in the gymnasium. Interested parents and community members were invited to tour through and shop in the market. Students were able to keep their own profits.
“It’s been a great opportunity for our students,” says Lisa Baird, Principal of Penhold Elementary School. “They are highly creative, and quite skilled in what they produce. We are proud of them!”
“It’s been wonderful to see students' understanding of entrepreneurship,” says Giselle Meyer, Vice Principal. “We love seeing their confidence grow.”
