People Services - Division Principal
Dave holds one of the two Division Principal roles in Chinook’s Edge, and is responsible for Teacher and Leader Development. He supports the supervision and evaluation of new teachers in the division, works with universities to coordinate student teacher placements, and mentors new school administrators within the division. Dave has been with Chinook’s Edge since 2005 and has been a teacher/administrator since 1988, having taught in the communities of Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House and Drayton Valley. He has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, with a double major in Mathematics and Physical Education. He was proud to attain his MBA, with a focus on Educational Administration, from Royal Roads University in Victoria.
Dave is married to Sharon, who is also a teacher in the division. Their two children are graduates from Chinook’s Edge, and both are considering continuing in the family tradition of becoming teachers. Dave enjoys inspiring young athletes, and has coached wrestling, hockey, basketball and baseball. He is a true fan of the Detroit Tigers and is still waiting for a repeat of the 1984 World Series Championship.
